Ronald Saumure of PWGSC and Karen Anger of Transport Canada initiated the idea of gathering as a group to discuss and share our experiences with ARCHIBUS FM. Ron has agreed to Chair the Groups meetings and Karen graciously accepted to be Co-Chair.

The meeting took place on October 25th at Place de Ville Tower C 330 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario on the 28th floor, Boardroom 2855. Members from PWGSC, Nav. Canada, House of Commons, RCMP, Transport Canada, NRC, and MDS Nordion were invited to attend the meeting. Approximately twenty members attended as well as three representatives from ARCHIBUS FM.

Ron and Karen opened the meeting with some background information regarding the history of previous attempts to create an “ARCHIBUS User Group”. This new User Group will continue to meet on a more frequent basis. It was stressed that these types of meetings add value to our understanding of other modules in ARCHIBUS and how to implement them in the world of “red tape”. We can learn from other members experiences.

Wayne Liko, Dave Fedy and Fraser Atkinson from Archibus were in attendance for the first official ARCHIBUS FM Users’ Group of Ottawa. ARCHIBUS FM 11.3 Demo......

New functionality:

• Hot list, predefined views can be saved on the Navigator.
• View options - Can now right click within all views (reports, data, drawings, etc...)
• Version 11.3 is compatible with AutoCAD 2000 .dwg files.
• Full Import/Export functionality. No more third party software problems.
• Space Management Module now includes “Room Reservations” and “Hotelling Reservations”.
• Furniture and Inventory Module now has the option
